Wizzair to drop Romanian domestic flight

Budget airline Wizzair will cut its current Romanian domestic flight route from Bucharest Baneasa airport to Cluj Napoca airport at the end of August 2008.

And another two unconfirmed news/ rumors – also no official confirmations:

Jul 11, 2008: SkyEurope will cancel Sofia-Prague flights during winter months (this probably makes sense if they intend to move the flights to Bucharest)

Jul 2, 2008: SkyEurope Airlines to operate weekly from Israel to Bratislava

What’s the point?

Each shirt sells for the same price as its number. That’s mean… shirt #1 is $1.00, shirt#20 is $20.00 and shirt #100 is $100.00.

You can see which numbered shirts have already been sold on the site. The number in the series is printed on the shirt back, just below the neck.

Is it just me or do you think that the Romania Eurovision 2007 song Liubi, Liubi, I Love You sounds like the old Leva’s Polka Song?

I’m not a musician, but I think these two songs have something in common. I do not say that is a 100% plagiarism, but hmmmâ€¦â€¦ something will be fishy inâ€¦ Finland!?

Bill Gates expected in Romania in early February

Bill Gates, the founder of US giant Microsoft, will pay a visit to Romania in early February. This would be Gates’ first visit to Romania, ten years after Microsoft first opened a branch here in 1996.

Bill Gates will mark the launch of the new Windows Vista on the domestic market, and will visit the Centre for Technical Support that serves clients in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Happily this Microsoft Centre is very close to my workplace so maybe, I will be lucky enough to see him.

Romanian Zoo mourns star elephant

The Bucharest Zoological Garden has announced that one of the oldest elephants on the European continent, Gaya, died in its compound this weekend.

Gaya, 48, was brought to Romania from Rostock 34 years ago, when it just turned 14. The animalâ€™s health deteriorated lately.

The longest lifespan reported for a captive elephant was 52 years. It was recorded at the Sidney Zoological Garden in Australia. It is common for a wild elephant to live as much as 70 years.
